The vast majority of transactional law and litigation revolves around financial concerns. This course reviews the basics of financial reporting to help attorneys achieve a better understanding of financial factors that may affect legal matters in front of them. It includes a discussion of financial statements, basic accounting practices, entity valuation and the time value of money.
About the Instructor
Hugh Taylor is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) who has written about cybersecurity, compliance and enterprise technology for such clients as Microsoft, IBM, SAP, HPE, Oracle, Google and Advanced Micro Devices. Previously, he served in executive roles at Microsoft, IBM and several venture-backed technology startups. He has been a lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley’s Law School and Graduate School of Information. He earned his AB, Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College in 1988 and his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1992. He lives in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to working in the technology field, Hugh was a producer of TV movies.
